Growing up in the heart of New York City, I was immersed in hip-hop. The streets echoed with the beats, the breakdancers moved with gravity-defying finesse, and the fashion told stories of personal expression. From the Bronx to Brooklyn, hip-hop was more than music – it was a lifestyle, a culture, and a movement that transcended boundaries.

I wanted to pay homage to the women who have not only danced to the rhythm but also helped compose the melody of hip- hop's journey. Just like the women celebrated in LL Cool J's iconic song, these "Around the Way Girls" encapsulate the spirit of New York City and the heart of hip hop.
