New York in the shadows

As a New York based street photographer my favorite moments to capture with my lens are those in the shadows. These moments are looked over yet occur all around us. They can only be seen if we are really paying attention. The juxtaposition between shadows and light fascinate me capturing these brief moments on the streets really make my heart race for the city . 'So close yet so far' is a poetic moment between two lovers crossing through the chaos of the city they did not have the words to communicate their feelings.

On this cold NYC rainy night there were stories hidden in the shadows in every corner I observed. This officer character in 'to lose is to win' , reminded me of myself. Always vigilant and present yet hidden in the scenery. To show yourself is to renounce your guard & be a force.
